Hi all, There were four or five cemeteries relocated when the Corps of Engineers made Stockton Lake. Research was done to determine the next of kin of those buried (if possible), they were contacted to get permission (out of courtesy, really, you know the Corps was going to build the lake anyway) and then the tombstones AND caskets were moved to a cemetery in Dade County. I am pretty sure the new cemetery was Vaughn Cemetery for all of the relocated cemeteries from Polk.
