Allean Barnhouse was my husband's paternal grandmother. She passed away just a couple of years after my husband and I were married. I wish I would have had an opportunity to get to know her better! Her claim to fame is the Foster Grandparent's program. A chapter is devoted to her in Mrs Nancy Reagan's book "To Love A Child".
