MO Sterling A, 5, b. MO Lucian B. GILLENWATER was from Hawkins Co, TN and married Mary Jane ARMSTRONG (dau. of Samuel Armstrong b. 1792 Hawkins Co, TN and Margaret SPROUL, b. 1804, Hawkins Co, TN). All of Samuel Armstrong's children (Mary Jane (m. Lucian B. GILLENWATER), Abner, James, Sarah (m. John A. COWDEN), Hannibal and Lydia (m. Z. T. L. BURNS) removed with he and his wife Margaret from Hawkins Co, TN to Polk County, MO, Mooney twp abt 1854. All are living in the immediate neighborhood, some on adjoining farms. Living in the Abner ARMSTRONG home (dwelling #139) in the 1870 census is a James J. Martin age 17, b. Arkansas. James ARMSTRONG and family are living in dwelling #138, and Hannibal ARMSTRONG and family are living in dwelling #140. Mary Jane ARMSTRONG died sometime between 1865, when Sterling A. was born, and Oct. 1866 when Samuel ARMSTRONG mentioned her children in his will. I have not located where she or Lucian B. are buried. An internet source gives Lucian B. Gillenwater's father as Joel G. Gillenwater. Hope this helps.
