I received the message below yesterday and thought I had forwarded to the list but I don't see it. Trying again! I know I don't deserve all the kind words and wanted to share with all who have helped make the site what it is. And to add my THANKS to all who have volunteered to transcribe records, those who volunteer to do free look ups, who have helped in any way, you are appreciated. http://www.rootsweb.com/mopolk/ Kay Griffin Snow -- Co-County Coordinator If you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough! ---------- ))))))))))))>)>)>)>)>)>) Kay Griffin Snow, Could you PLEASE give lessons to the thousands of other genealogical websites that are 'trying' to achieve what you have but have FAILED miserably. It has been a complete and total pleasure investigating the options on this site. The most wonderful thing is, I'm not leaving empty handed and didn't have to pay a thing for it. There are many things I have yet to discover about my Missouri family and since research is never-ending, I will look forward to returning to your site many times. You have a wonderful support system and if I could contact each and every contributor I would and give them a big 'Hip, Hip, Hurray!!!' <snip> Big Hugs to you and ALL that have contributed. ----------

She remains on each census through 1880 as a widow in the same twp. The 1870 Polk Co census lists additional children: Seigle F. Baird, m, 8, b: MO Sherman G, m. 2, b: MO. (aka Sherman Grant, Grant) I have further info for Elva Ellen, Seigel, and Sherman Grant, but can find nothing on any of the others. If anyone can tell me anything about John, Melissa's maiden name or death info, birth records for Sherman Grant, obits, bios of any family members, who Albert Hames was, etc, I would be most grateful, as I can find none of this. All answers to these questions are in Polk or Greene Co. somewhere! Thanks in advance for any help. Would love to share info. ~~Kay

Iowa, (ED 97) living next door to my great grandfather Sherman Grant Baird, his wife "Belle" and two children. In 1920, I find Banjamin, 69 yrs old, widowed, living with married daughter in Los Angeles, CA, (ED 7, page 213). Aletha L. is his daughter married to William Teneyck (or Temayake), listing children Dale, b: Iowa, Donald, b: Iowa, and Ross, b: CA. Happy hunting! Be sure to let me know if this is in fact the right Hale family, as there were quite a few Benjamin Hales in Missouri. If it is, we can exchange more info! ~~Kay
July 18, 2003 Re: Who the Heck are You Hudson Family Reunion Dear Family, We are trying to plan a family reunion for June 24th - 26th, 2004. The process is still in its rudimentary form as we need a complete list of relatives of Carrie and William Hudson. We thought it would be fun to have the reunion in Harriman, Tennessee, the origin of their branch of the family. A letter is being sent to all of their grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews for whom we have addresses. To aid us in contacting people, please send us the names and addresses of any family you can think of as quickly as possible. We are hoping by planning this a year in advance people can ask off from work to attend and we can reserve hotel rooms and a picnic site in Harriman. We would like to start the reunion on Thursday for those who are able to come early. There are many fun activities in the Smokey Mountain area. The reunion would culminate with a large family picnic in Harriman at the Roane County State Park on Saturday, June 26th (a minimal fee will be charged per person to cover food, beverages etc.) . We can begin reserving rooms as early as late September, early October so please contact: Joreen Hudson Henry, granddaughter, & George Henry [email protected] If you don't know if you are related, hope you are related or just want to check, I'll send a list of known relatives upon request. If you know you are related, please indicate how in your response. Finally, please pass this to everyone you know who qualifies. Thank you! P.S. We are novices at this whole thing so any tips would be greatly appreciated. Reunion Information 1. I am: ____ interested ____ not interested in attending the Hudson family reunion. 2. I seem to have missed the first message about Rose Hill cemetery over the line in Greene Co., MO. Would the original poster re-send the message. Isn't the Rose Hill cemetery connected to the Rose Hill Baptist Church. I have just returned from Polk Co. These locations are just across the county line. Belle
Rose Hill Cemetery is across the line in Greene Co But no town there. rb
