They liverd in Platte County in the 1860s and both died there. From what I have beern given Morman died February 10, 1869 in Platte County. Susannah's death is cloudier, I have dates from September 23, 1868, to December 23, 1869 and one date in 1875, which I feel is totally wrong. Any help is appreciated. > > ==== MOPLATTE Mailing List ==== > Please resubmit your queries once or twice per year to reach other members. > > ============================== > Search over 1 Billion names at Ancestry.com! > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist1.asp I would go with the 1869 date. According to Paxtons "Annals of Platte County": Jan. 3, 1870- Susanna Ballard, having died near Barry, J.W. Anderson administers. Bond, $2,000. Children: 1. Lydia Ballard (Horner) 2. David 3. Angeline 4. Ella 5. Ezra 6. William 7. Henrietta 8. Minnie There are no Ballards listed in the 1850 Platte County Census I have. I also checked Cementery Records of Platte, Vol. II. Did see some Ballards but not yours. I do not have Vol. I. In the book "History of Clay and Platte Counties", it has a bio on William H. Ballard. If it is the son mentioned above, it says he was born in KY,1835 and came to Platte in 1858. Returned to KY the same year and came back and settled in 1859. Since Paxton did not mention the husband of Susannah, he must not have known him and nor did the person who passed the children info to him. Hope this helps.
