I can tell you that Platte was not organized until the last day of 1838 and most offices of gov't were established in 1839. The land of Platte in 1830 was actually not part of MO as the original state line was straight north and south. I believe the land was occupied by the Sacs and other indians during that period of time. In other words, your man probably was not there in 1830. Doing a quick look there is no mention of the name in the "Annals of Platte County".
