    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bowen, Doyle, Hibbs, Cashow, Denny, Kearns, Middleton, Tincher Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GMB.2ACE/609 Message Board Post: Dabney Bowen (son of Richard James Bowen) was born December 29, 1809 in Virginia, died March 18, 1892 in Platte County, Missouri on his farm 3 miles west of the city (Weston?). He lived in Putnam County, Indiana in 1850 in Marion Township and is shown in the 1870 Platte County, Missouri Census in the township of Weston. His first wife is unknown to us, married second wife, Martha Cashow, March 18, 1843 in Boone Co., Indiana. Third wife was Winiford Doyle (late consort of John Doyle) who was born Dec. 24, 1821 and died March 12, 1896 in Platte County, Missouri. According to cemetery records of Platte County Missouri, Book 2, Dabney and Winiford Doyle Bowen, daughters Annie and Martha Bowen are buried in the oldest part of a beautiful cemetery - Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, 3 miles NE of Weston. Annie and Martha are daughters by the 3rd wife. Dabney had children by first 2 wives, namely Lucy A. Bowen, Richard H. Bowen, Mary Bowen, and Sarah Bowen. According to Paxton's Anna! ls of Platte County, Dabney Bowen was awarded the contract on Feb. 20, 1874 to feed the poor for $1.50 a week. Dabney had siblings, Florentine Bowen who died in infancy in Virginia, Wesley Bowen who married Mary Angeline Tincher, Sarah Bowen who married John Kearns of Buchannon Co. Missouri, Charles Bowen, Henry Bowen who married Rachel Hibbs, James Bowen who married Nancy (Annie) Jane Middleton of Kentucky (my 2nd great grandfather), Elizabeth Bowen, and Young Bowen who married Mary Ann Denny. I am curious, are any of Dabney Bowen's descendants in or around Platte County?
