I noticed today that my new PC scanner enables me to scan a page from a book and then puts it on my wordpad that allows me to cut and paste. Below is an example. It comes from a random page of Paxtons Annals of Platte. I have 2 of these books. My original is loaned out and the one I have is from a reprint. Some of the text is very light and therefore looks garbled on the page. Also an "h" will appear as "li" for example. You can see from my reply to the Cox post that the one I copied from the Buchanan County book came out well. So if this will help anyone, let me know. Also, for the many from here who have asked me privately about my wife over the last year or so, she passed last Friday of cancer. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I will watch the board more closely to keep myself busy. I do not keep an address book or I would reply privately. Please excuse this off-topic paragraph. Here is how the page came out: THE BRASFig^ 1839, JUNB. 30 my partners; went to San Francisco, and returned with stock of goods; sold them at great profit. ITcnce many leases for 99 years are found of record. This month I arrived in Platte. I landed from a steamboat, with several companions, at Lexington. We purchased horses, and rode through Lafayette and Jackson counties to Wcstport?then three houses in the woods. Thence we went to Liberty, crossing at Fort Osage.
