I tried to email Chuck who had given me directions to the 'Richard Babcock Cemetery' on Hillsboro Road. The email came back stating the user was unknown. If there is anyone else on the MOPLATTE list that knows the exact location of this cemetery, please contact me. I'm going to be back in the Kansas City area tomorrow (Tues, Sept 23) and if we could meet at the QuickTrip in Platte City, I'll do the driving if you can show me where this cemetery is. Hi Bev and All, If you don't hear from anyone else, you could always stop by Shirley Kimsey's Family History Shop right across from the court house in Platte City. She has published an extremely detailed, updated series of inventories of Platte County cemeteries. Her books list people who are buried with no headstones because she uses old newspapers to provide supplemental info. She could probably tell you a lot about the cemetery but I do not know if she would leave her shop to show you how to get there or not. Call Shirley at 816.858.5512. Her shop is at 339 Main Street. She is usually there until 4pm everyday. Chuck is still around, still Mayor of Farley while holding down a fulltime job and trying to raise his kids since his wife died last year.
