Died: June 1st, 1918, Keokuk,Iowa. Lee Co. Obit mentiones 4 brothers and 2 sisters surviving him in Platte City/Co. Married: September 17th, 1899, Dearborn, Mo. Platte Co. (Brides home) Alice M. Davis, dau of John and Ellen Murphy-Davis 1900 census- Dearborn, Mo. Platte Co. Living with wife and in-laws .States father from Texas, mother from Missouri. Also says he could not read or write, was a day laborer. First child born..Margaret Ellen Lewis, 1901, Marshalltown, Iowa, county unknown Margaret went by Maggie. Ellen most likely from Grandma Ellens name..where does Margaret come from? 2nd Born: JC Lewis (Initials only) born December 25th 1903, obit says St. Joseph, Mo., Buchanon Co. Have a picture of the Cottage Grove School in Hancock Co. in 1908 with Maggie, JC, Henry Aithel and Dale Orrie Davis. (Henry and Dale are Alice's siblings) 3rd born Carrie Mae, November/1910, Keokuk, Iowa..No idea on these names 4th born, Fay (????) have nothing on her except she died in 1920 where uncertain yet. Died from the flu. 5th born: Russell Hardin, Born in Warsaw Ill, 1912. Not sure where Russell comes from, perhaps Davis line since the have Russells also. hardin most likely from Wiliam Hardin Murphy, Ellen's father. Still waiting for 1900 census on Illinois and Keokuk to see what that shows for Charles parents place of birth. Why is it i cannot find his family in the 1880 census..could he have changed his name or could he actually have another birthdate? Everything i have on him shows what i posted here. All info will be appreictaed. even if it doesn't match up later. Teri
