The only Benjamin listed was born in 1848 to James (son of Joseph) and Sarah Tracy Duncan. Shows Benjamin m'd an Eliza Whittock on Dec. 25, 1877. Found no Grace under either name. I have Cementery Records II- Lists a Benjamin Duncan, b. in 1885, d. in 1958. Says he was the son of Edward and Lavina Duncan. Again, no Grace listed in this book. The PCHS was out of Vol. I when I was there last. All I have time for right now. Chuck McCardie -- The older I get, the better I was!

    1. [MOPLATTE] McComas/Heath Cemetery Clean-Up THIS WEEKEND
    2. Angie Anthony
    3. Hello All, For those of you within driving distance of Platte County and who may be related to some of the people buried there or who would just like to help rescue an old cemetery: The Project is HAPPENING this WEEKEND, Oct 20. Depending on how that goes, we may be out there on Sunday October 21, as well as next weekend October 27 and 28. DIRECTIONS for those of you who know Platte Co: It is just south of the old covered bridge. As you go south on B the road curves around to the west (there's a nice big farm with white fence on the south.) When the road curves to head south again, you turn right on WINAN Road. The first house on the right is a ranch with reddish shutters. Turn right into the driveway and see 3 or 4 barns. We usually park by the barns and walk across the pasture but will have to drive slowly over to the cemetery on Saturday to get all the tools over there. I am bringing a table and chairs so people can sit and rest when they need to. I have rented a porta-potty. DIRECTIONS for those who don't know Platte Co: Take I-29 north past the Kansas City International Airport, go approx 5 miles to the Platte City exit of 92 where you Turn RIGHT onto MO-92. Go east for 1.8 miles to B Highway. (Hoover) Turn LEFT onto MO B. Go 1.8 miles to Winan Road where you Turn LEFT onto N WINAN RD. (there is only a left hand turn here as B Highway curves right at this point) As soon as you turn left on Winan, you see a white ranch house with reddish shutters on the right. Pull up into the driveway where you see the barns. There will be tools and trashbags to go around for everybody. There will be tables and chairs so you can sit and rest. It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend! The foliage is starting to turn beautiful colors, we will be burning leaves and brush, it should be a great way to spend a fall weekend. We will be out there Saturday morning at 9-10 am. Some of the people buried in this cemetery: McComas Cemetery extracted from "Platte County MO Cemeteries" by Shirley L. Also listed was Noah & Emily, and several other members of the Dike/Dyke family. On the census, I believe Myrtle's parents were recorded as being born in Indiana but under Emily it said differently - I'll check.
