    3. Nothing in the new book. I don't remember if I had the 1880 census Cd's when I checked these for you some time back. I found H.P. in Topeka. The widow listed on his Civil War pension is Nancy A. Streeter. Perhaps that is Annie. It was filed April 21, 1888. Can't quite make out what it says for company. Looks like somthing 11, Kansas ????. 3. My ancestor Hardy Platte (H. P.) Streeter, his wife Sophia Minona Clark Streeter, and their children appear in Parkville, Pettis Township, Platte Co., MO in the 1860 Federal Census. Hardy had a brother that may also have been in the vicinity at the time, Oscar S. Streeter, whose wife was Hannah. I would appreciate knowing if there is any information about either brother or any members of their families in the Annals of Platte County or its new Addendum. I believe that they arrived in the Leavenworth-Platte County area about 1857. Oscar and Hannah are buried at the Friends Church, Springdale in Leavenworth County, KS. H.P. and Sophia are buried in Topeka, Shawnee County, KS. H.P. and Sophia probably left Platte County in or about 1861 to go to the Topeka area, as he joined the Kansas Volunteer Cavalry in 1863 from that area. Their first few children were Marion (dau.), Benjamin, Julliette, Georganna. All of those came with them to the area, the next daugher is believed to have been born in Springfield, MO, March 1, 1859, but they still appeared in the 1860 Census. Their first child to be born in Topeka was 1862. Thanks for any information that you might be able to provide.

I don't know which George McAfee he is referring to but it states that James McAfee, son of George, was guilty of murder at Joplin, MO and was sentenced to be hung on June 1, 1899. As I recall, there were 2 George McAfees in Platte around the same time. The one that Platte City stole their land from died without children I thought though. Anyway, let me know. 3. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------6DBA63E6394A Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi folks. I recieved the email below showing "New Napster...". This is a virus/worm containing the BadTrans virus. I tried to email the person who sent it but it came back so hopefully they will see it here as they probably have no idea it was sent. If anyone else is in this persons address book, you will recieve it if you haven't already. DO NOT OPEN IT. Only an AV that has been recently updated will catch it. It had been about 60 days since I had and it did not catch it. I know the the extension .pif is common now with these so I saved it to a floppy and checked it there. When nothing was found I updated my Norton AV and then it found the virus. Sorry to bother the list but it was from someone who uses the list. Hope all of you fine people have a safe and glorious holiday season. I am in the process now of updating my Norton AV, but I am guessing this is a virus/worm and has probably been sent to everyone in you address book. If you opened something that looks like this recently, you are probably infected. The extension ".pif" is the flavor of the month, so to speak, for the new viruses. Once a PC is infected, the worm part of the program mails itself to everyone in your address book. If this is the case, you need to let everyone know NOT to open it or they will be infected as well. Angeline 4. Ella 5. Ezra 6. William 7. Henrietta 8. Minnie There are no Ballards listed in the 1850 Platte County Census I have. I also checked Cementery Records of Platte, Vol. II. Did see some Ballards but not yours. I do not have Vol. I. In the book "History of Clay and Platte Counties", it has a bio on William H. Ballard. If it is the son mentioned above, it says he was born in KY,1835 and came to Platte in 1858. Returned to KY the same year and came back and settled in 1859. Since Paxton did not mention the husband of Susannah, he must not have known him and nor did the person who passed the children info to him. Hope this helps.
