Conwell who had a son by the same name. The son was born ca. 1904 and died a few years ago. I had couple of conversations with him but could not established if we were related. Going thru some old notes I have this on Conwells: 1) a Jennie Conwell was confirmed in 1869 at an Epis- copaian Church. 2) a Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Conwell members of a Methodist Church 3) Harry Leftwich Conwell, son of H.B. and J.S. b. 22 Aug. 1962, died 11 June 1863, buried in Union Cemetery. 4) marriage of John Q. Watkins to Miss Lou Conwell, both of K.C. 9 June 1859. 5) H.B. Conwell married 18 June 1862( I believe this was in Greene Co.,OH) Gary Conwell

My Conwells moved from Platte Co. to Daviess, Gentry, Harrison, Buchanan, and back to Platte from the 1850's thru the 1890's before my line settled in eastern Jackson Co.,MO(Blue Springs and Independence) by 1900. There is no mention of Conwells in either of Paxtons books. In the 1850 census for Platte County, it lists Lee Conwell and says (See Comwell) in the index. Shows Lee Comwell in Preston Township at 25 years of age, born in Alabama. Also: Christiana 34 F VA William 4 M MO Elizabeth 2 F MO In the same household; Ferguson, Elizabeth 14 F VA Nancy 12 F VA John 10 M VA Possible that Christiana was widowed or divorced from a Ferguson and married Lee Comwell 2nd. I would note to Gary that Platte County was not organized until 1839 and many records were kept in Clay County until later in the year when courts and such were established. I checked books I have on Clay and Buchanan Counties with no luck.
