My dad passed in 1982 ad there's no living family I know of on his side .I am trying to find info on his dad's side- I only know his dad's name was William & he passed in 1941 ( buried in Wisconsin). I know William may have lived in KY or AR before he married my grandmother and then moved to WI. I recently came into contact with an aunt (she was married to an uncle who is passed) and I hope she can give me some names, places or dates. So who knows, there maybe link---;m still on the hunt for my missing one.

My father Jesse was the baby in the family. He had a brother named Frank He had a sister that was a airline flight attendant. I think the grandmother died in smithville area. Any help will be appreciated. Jesse

It was from various emails I had from old lookups. It shows in his bio that he was married 5 times and I think it even gives names and dates. In response to your first question of proof of marraige: Missouri Platte County Harrington, Miles married Jeter, Olive Ann on 25 Jul 1849 in Platte County, Missouri This was transcribed my Ancestry.com directly from the Platte County marraige book. I have looked through this book at the records office in the Platte County courthouse. It has records from 1839 to current day. The early ones are in a book that only gives the info above. No parents, pastor, etc. There is a Stephen English referred to many times in Paxtons Annals of Platte County. Most all refers to him renting, buying and running various mills in the county. He is also mentioned in "History of Clay and Platte Counties" as an early settler in the county. Again, no family info. I found your family in the 1850 census and checked all the names in the family against the cemetery index book. Again, nothing found. Gary also mentioned Paxtons "Annals of Platte County". I checked the addendum to the same with no Parkers listed in the index. The 1850 census listed his wife as Mary A. Parker. There is a reference to that name in "History of Clay and Platte Counties". She is listed as one of the original members of the Parkville M.E. Church South. Appears it organized in 1849 and must have survived the Civil War this book usually tells when the churches were burned. I am familiar with Parkville but not the history of its buildings so I don't know if this church still exists or not. Checking the 1880 census, I found a Mary A. living with grandchildren named Searcy back in KY. I wonder if they may have taken Josiah back to KY where Mary and the older children were from. Crystal, Below I have attempted to copy a few pages of Paxtons book on the Silvey family. I talked with Jude quite some time back about the remark that Paxton makes on Darius' family being extinct. As you can see, it does not list an Elmira as one of his children. Paxton got some of his info from family member so it is only as good as his source sometimes. You will see some funny garbage in the copy due to the poor print in the book I have. If there is something there you cannot figure out, let me know. The Silvey info starts around the middle. I left the other stuff there just so others could see what kind of info he kept. Before that, here is some 1880 census info. I found one Silvey (James) family in Platte County. A few doors down I find a Samuel Miller. I note that his wife is Elvina. I was thinking it could have been transcribed incorrectly for Elmira. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Wood, Stillwell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GMB.2ACE/641.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: I have tentatively found a match for the marriage of William James Wood and Jane Wood. Buchanan Co. marriage records show the marriage of Wm. J. Wood and Jane Stillwell on 24 Nov 1875. The date matches later census records that show the duration of their marriage. And, more importantly, the family of Dixon Stillwell lives in dwelling #88, 6 doors away from William and Jane Wood in 1880 Platte Co., Weston Twp census. Jane Wood in 1880 shows her father's birthplace as IN; the Stillwell family record shows the mother (Susan) with an Indiana birthplace. In the 1910 Crook Co., OR census, Jane listed her father's birthplace as KY, consistent with the Stillwell info in 1880, but listed her mother as born in VA. In 1900, birthplaces for her parents are blank. So . . . the birthplace info is ambiguous at best, but there is an Indiana connection between the families. An additional piece of the puzzle is Jane's first name. 1860 and 1870 census records for Dixon Stillwell family show Susan J., age 2, and Susan, age 12. The probable OR death record of 6 Aug 1934 shows Susan Wood as the name. In the first two census years of her Wood marriage, she listed her name as "Jane", but in 1910 she is listed as Virginia S., with add'l info that she has been married to William for 35 years. Overall, my theory is that Jane didn't like to give too much information to the census man. She always said she was a cousin to Jesse James, so maybe that has something to do with it. In short, the close proximity of the Stillwell and Wood families, along with occurrences of both the Susan and Jane first names, as well as close birth and marriage dates, and the Indiana connection, lead me to a probable conclusion that Susan Jane Stillwell of Platte Co. married William James Wood in Buchanan County on 24 Nov 1875. She would have been about 15, so maybe they went and run off together. Any further information on the Dixon Stillwell family in Platte Co.? Bob Bryan Seattle, WA

But for the benefit of anyone else researching these names, I do have the parents of David WEBB husband of Mary Ann Langford. His death certificate lists them as John W. WEBB and Sarah SHELTON both born in Indiana. I have David's obituary that says his family moved to Lucas County, Iowa when he was young and that he grew up there. I do have a John WEBB family that may be David's family on the Monroe County, Iowa census in 1850. David and Mary Ann were living with the Lankford's in Bates County, MO in 1860. Jeanne Reed, MO

Email is rdsmith@losch.net The only info I got on Isaac and Catherine is Isaac Smith was listed on the Militia for Oxford N.J. in 1793. The Militia consists of all white able-bodied men between the ages 18-45 years of age. and that it was possible for him to have a dauther born 1794 and a son born 1808. the mothers surname was not listed on any records. we believe he was dead by 1830 for he was not listed on the 1830 U.S. census.
