Anna M. Miller (birth probably between 1870 - 1880) birth place unknown but is probably MO, IL, or IA. Maiden name ARTHUR. I would appreciate very much if someone with access to the 1910 or 1920 census would do a look up for me. Unfortunately I don't have much information, but I do know she was still living in Kansas City in February 1939. She is my great aunt. She signed the death certificate of her father, my g grandfather, in Boone County, AR 02/1939. It was signed Anna M. Miller, Kansas City, MO. She was the last surviving sibling of this family. All the others died before 1920. I wasn't born until 10/1938 so did not know any of the family. Would like to know if she had any children, but first must find where she was living. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Jan, in Indiana

I have now determined, with some certainty, that Susan Jane, the wife of William James Wood of Weston, Platte Co., MO in 1880, was the daughter of Dixon Stillwell and his wife Susan. I have no further information on the ancestors of William James Wood, and no known connection to the William a/k/a WIlliamson Simmons family. One lead that might help - William Simmons of Platte Co. is listed as William Summons in the 1850 MO census. There are several other Summons families in the 1850 census, who appear to be listed as Simmons in later census, including an Elizabeth Jane Summons, age 8, living with the family of William Dakan (sp?), shown at p421 of the Platte Co. census, dwelling #423, family #414. Hope that's some help.

I was looking for information on John C West who was around Parkville in 1888 when I saw your query. Are you from this area? Our line of West came to Platte in 1840's or 50's from Madison County Kentucky. Some setteled near Avondale, my family from around Edgerton, and others around Linkville. Beverly is awfully close. We could be cousins. I have contact with a cousin in Colorado who is really deep in search and has written a book on our family going back to about 1790 there in Kentucky. Before that we are not sure. Maybe you can help. Hope to hear from you. Carl

I know quite a bit about the ancestry of James Harvey Spurlock, and little about Charles Wesley Spurlock's children. I am surprised to hear that Charles Wesley and Jessie May were married in Washington state, as I didn't know they ever lived there. The family moved to Kansas, and some or all of their children were born in Geary Co., KS. Contact me by email and I can give you more information about this family. Jane Soder

Jo Ann, They are available for copy at the Platte County Courthouse, Recorder of Deeds (or something like that). I have been there a few times. They do not do lookups or anything but you can go in there and copy anything you want. The first years are in a ledger-type book and only lists the bride and groom names, there is no certificate. I don't remember what year it went to but I don't think it went into the 1860's. Those are in a drawer by year as I recall and have a little more info on them. Maybe someone here can give you better detail. I am in the middle of moving my genealogy material to another room. I will look at your names later.
