Yes, that is my gr-grandfather Azariah with his 1st wife Nancy and their daughter Effie will be born in 1881. And those are his parents next-door, my gr-gr-grandparents, and my gr-gr-gr-grandmother, Mary Springer, too. You are so good! And I feel so good, to see them there, right where they said they were. And that Eads family is a good possibility, since 11 is very close to what Martha Alice would have been in 1880. In fact, if the information on her family was taken in up to Dec., 1879, she would have been 11, then turning 12 the following January 5th, 1880. Now, I just have to try to find out what that A. stood for. And it doesn't say she is away at school, so if it is our Martha Alice, then she didn't go to boarding school until after the census, and probably not that school year. There is the question of why she would have been discharged before she was ready or before she wanted to from the school and put out in the city "in town" (as she was known to have said) with no money and could not find her family. That is a puzzle. And maybe try to figure out how she became so native american in her life, since my grandfather knew her to be native american all his life and others abused her because they believed her to be one, and she herself thought she was one, so that wi! ll be interesting to try to iron out. But you have gone out of your way to assist me and have come through with some beautiful aces, and i am so thrilled for what you have given me (and our family) here. Many, many thanks. May I help you research something? Annadella Paschal

Would any of you have in your family/census/research records any Eads/Eade/Eades child(ren), especially a Martha Alice Eads, b. 5 Jan. 1868, who attended boarding school or was in an orphanage in MO area? I'm also looking for any siblings she may have had. I have her death cert. (FL) but for both her parents it only says "unknown." She mentioned a brother/cousin whom she called Mitchel, but we don't know if he was in the school with her. She was my gr-grandmother who went to work as a housekeeper for Azariah Thomas Paschall in Benton Co., AR, soon after she got out of the boarding school/orphanage. She apparently didn't have parents and she said she looked for her family, but couldn't find them (she was a teenager - 13-16 - when released from the school). Surely, if it was a boarding school that would be receiving payments from her family, it would notify the family that they were releasing her, but she said she had not heard from her family at all while she lived in the sch! ool and that she was called into the office one morning and told to pack her things because she was being discharged (with other students), and then she was taken "to town" where the driver helped her down from the wagon and even though she explained that she had no money and nowhere to go, he said he was sorry and left her there. It also has been suggested that possibly she was released because of non-payment of her tuition. According to what little she was remembered saying about this, she was in a frantic state not knowing where to go or how to get by. Thankfully, one lady noticed her distress and assisted her, providing her room and board and through the lady's contacts, she was referred to A.T. Paschall (in AR) for a job housekeeping. We think she may have been an orphan, but we don't know for sure. We don't know what boarding school/orphanage it was and haven't been able to find any lists of MO boarding schools/orphanages operating in that time frame and don't know how! to find their records, if we do find that list since probably most or all of them no longer exist. Since there's the distinct possibility she was Native American, tribal connection not known, there's also that possibly trail which have not been able to track to anything or anybody so far. Azariah Thomas Paschall was a widower as of 1881, and a single parent to an infant, and he married our Martha Alice Eads on 30 May 1886, in Benton Co., AR (we have a copy of their marriage license). But the mrg. lic. didn't give any info. on her parents or where she was born. Help would be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me at: littleowlalp@yahoo.com . Thank you - Annadella Paschal (my maiden name which I kept)
