I am researching John B McDowell who married Letitia Burch in Pike County in 1837. John came from South Carolina so don't know if anyone can help me with him. In "Portrait and Biographical Records of Marion, Ralls and Pike Counties"there is a Biography of John H. Burch in which it is stated that his sister is Letitia McDowell and their father is Henry Burch. The DAR has Letitia McDowell as the daughter of Zachariah Burch. Both Zachariah and Henry came to Pike County around 1820 from Kentucky. I have both in Tax Records there. Letitia was born in KY in 1817. All of the above settled in Spencer Township.Letitia and John McDowell are reported to be buried in Spencer Township Cemetery, but I have been there and cannot find either grave. If anyone comes across any information about my McDowell and Burch family please contact me. Thanks Donna
