He moved to Covington, Ky., March 1831, and to Missouri March, 1835. In Sept. 1823 he lost his wife while on a visit to his brother John Riggs at Gravecreek, Ohio County, Virginia. He died in full hope of immortality at the advanced age of seventy-eight years and full of faith and the Holy Ghost. He was a man of sound mind and general information. In his last days he had been called upon to endure afflictions, the most intense and in the most aggravated form; but he has gone where the wicked cease from troubling and the weary are at rest. His children are widely separated now, but may there be no wanderer lost, but a family saved in the better land. (signed) W.W. McMurrey Shelbeyville, Mo.
