Dee: I took a quick look at the 1850 Census index for Pike County. It only shows one Guiley and no Schurman or Sherman. The listing for the Guiley is: Edwin Guiley 18 M Shoemaker born/MO He's living with a family named Markley. John and his wife,Mary Ann and some chilun. John Markley is a boot and shoe manufacturer. Maybe Edwin is related to your John. Jean Does anyone know this Guiley? He was born about 1828 in Pike county Mo. so I have been told. He married Mary Jane Schurman/Sherman July 2, 1848 in Pike county Mo. Mary Jane was born 14 May 1828 in Mo. died 15 June 1922 in Bowling Green, Mo. These are my GG grandparents. I would like to know when John D. birth and death dates and his parents names. According to 1880 Arapahoe County, Denver Co. he was 51 yrs and a carpenter and his father was born in Pa. and his mother was born in Ky. John and Mary had at least 4 children. 1. Sarah Ellen 2.
