Friends, Elder Peter Branstetter, of Curryville, kept a journal of his overland journey to California and of his farming, preaching (he was a Regular Baptist minister). He was born in 1825 and died in 1890, and the journal was published in 1913 in book form. I have at least one copy of it. He pastored churches in Pike and Montgomery counties, in Missouri, at least, and probably lived in that area nearly his whole life. If anyone knows of the existence of any of his writings, including pamphlets published after his death, I am interested in learning about them.
