    3. Altho there may be other cemeteries around Middletown (tho I don't know of any personally),, I am somewhat familiar with the primary one, as my grandparents, great and great great grandparents, and various other relatives are buried there. However, Middletown is not in Pike County, it is in Montgomery County. The cemetery I am thinking of is known to us merely as the Middletown Cemetery, and there is a church there, tho I don't know if it is still active or not. I have an elderly aunt who lives in Mexico, Missouri, who could probably tell me, as her plans are to be also interred there. I feel sure there is a county genealogical group in Montgomery County - I believe Wellsville is the capital. I visited the cemetery lastly about nine years ago. ----- Original Message ----- From: mary <maryow1@comcast.net> To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 5:26 PM Subject: Re: [MOPIKE-L] Stephen Ingram > Thanks to all for the Ingram help--my Grandmother was daughter of Geo. > Edwin -son of Stephen and Mary. 3. Hi again - If you stand a bit more guessing - I lived south of Vandalia a few years before I went into the Army. There are a number of cemeteries in that area. One at Pleasant Plains (I lived there), it had an old Baptist Church - in fact, I attended it (back in the late 1940's). A few miles further south was a Presbyterian Church, also with cemetery - don't recall the names, but have relatives back there that could bring me up to date. It was close to Cuivre Creek, as I recall (pronounced "Quivver"). Might take some time, but if you want me to check further, I could contact cousins back there, two of who lived there too (I lived with the family). Happy hunting. 3. Oops - just remembered - the cemetery at the Presbyterian Church (as I recall, about 8 miles or so south of Vandalia) was called the Mr. Olivet Cemetery. Was a very nice complex back in 40's and 50's. That is a farming community. Church used to a very nice place with well kept cemetery.- I attended their church on occasion when our youth groups got together with oother local church groups. ck ----- Original Message ----- From: mary <maryow1@comcast.net> To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 7:07 PM Subject: Re: [MOPIKE-L] Stephen Ingram > Thanks Carl, I just found out that cemetery I'm thinking about is on Route > w-8 miles south of Vandalia and west of Middletown.. still not sure of name. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Carl" <CRKrig@CanyonCountry.net> > To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 8:10 PM > Subject: Re: [MOPIKE-L] Stephen Ingram > > > > Altho there may be other cemeteries around Middletown (tho I don't know of > > any personally),, I am somewhat familiar with the primary one, as my > > grandparents, great and great great grandparents, and various other > > relatives are buried there.
