Hello, Do any of you PRITCHETTE descendants know anything about Nancy Jane PICKETT Prittchette's Father, Wm. Sanford PICKETT Jr. His 2nd wife was Nancy Burroughs Cash. My ancestor Sarah Ellen PICKETT Summers was apparently Nancy Jane's half sister. Sarah Ellen was born in 1804 and Wm. Sanford Pickett md Nancy Cash in 1812 in Maysville KY. I'm trying to locate his first wife for the DAR line. I was happy to see Nancy & Thomas Pritchette daughter Edna's Sisson line. I didn't have a husband for Edna PRITCHETTE. Thank you so much. He was doing research on the area I think, not just a particular family. He had information on some of my family members and that they were buried in private cemeteries. The address I had on him was Rt 1 Box 77. I never contacted him again. The address in switchboard is: Mike Weaver 10837 Pike 107 Frankford, MO 63441-2107 (573)784-2564 You might try to contact him. I also have a telephone book of the Bowling Green Louisiana Region. It is dated May 1997. There is a G W Unsell listed in Bowling Green. The address is Rt 3 Box 182 Bowling Green, Mo 63334. If you want it, I'll send you his telephone number. It's not on switchboard.com but there are other Unsell's in Missouri you might try. Good luck. Barbara Hardwick Collier

Donna, thank you for letting me know about Mrs. Unsell. Did you know her personally? I was wondering if she had relatives I might contact. Or, do you know of any other older people who lived in Frankford their entire lives? Thanks, Sharon
Barbara, Thank you so much for the info, but right after that I got the message from Donna that Virginia Unsell died just this week. What a coincidence, but I am of the belief that if God closes one door, he opens another. Perhaps I will see if she has any relatives that might help me with the Pritchetts/Doyles. You were so nice to respond to me. Thank you again. Sharon

I don't know if this will help or not, but: My Hardwick family is from Frankford in Pike county. In 1997 or 1998 we visited there to get more information. An elderly lady by the name of Virginia Unsell showed us around the town and country side. She knew a lot about Frankford and it's history. I wrote in my notes that her mother's side were Pritchett. You might try to contact her. I'm not good at determining age, but I would guess she was in her early 80's then. As far as I know she doesn't have a computer; but she does live in town. I'm sure a letter addressed to the city only would get to her for it is a very small town. The address would be Frankford, MO 63441. There is a Charles Unsell on switchboard.com in Frankford, no address just telephone number. If you want to call you might try that. She said her grandfather was a Caverley; and that her family had been in that area for a very long time. Maybe this will help. Barbara Hardwick Collier
There used to be a Harvey Pritchett back in the 1940's, who lived on a farm a mile or so north of New London, on the left side of the highway. He operated the New London Auction every Sat night for many years, with his wife serving as his clerk. I think he called her "Biddy". She had red hair, obviously dyed, and he constantly teased her about wearing a wig (while he was auctioneering). I don't know if it was true or not. Age-wise, I would estimate they were in their sixties then. The auction was consignments of many small, sundry farm items, many selling for a quarter or so - but there was always a nice crowd there, even if in bad weather. He held it behind a business (in New London) May be some of family you are searching. I don't think they had children. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Surban2246@aol.com> To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 08, 2002 6:47 PM Subject: Re: [MOPIKE-L] Pritchett > Dan, thanks so much for your reply. Please see the message that I sent to Kathy...it was really meant for you about Beshears girls married to Eppersons and Prichett. Linda Seevers
I have Epperson in my family. Two of my grandmother's sisters married Epperson boys. One was Roy Epperson and the other Joe Epperson. The Epperson brides are: Roy married Mattie Beshears and Joe married Dora Lee Beshears. I also have an Unknown Prichett who married another sister, Maggie D. Beshears. These all lived in the Frankford and New London area. If any of these are familiar, would like to exchange info with you. Linda Seevers
Good evening. I also have Edna, Liza, Thomas and William H. Pritchett in the family Line. I come from John Sisson, Lawson Frank Sisson, Daniel Webster Sisson and my father Henry S. Gridley Sisson. FOR KATHY. I would like exchange information on the Sisson line if you would like. Sincerely, Tom W. Sisson.
Kathy, thank you so much for your reply. I can't believe how helpful people are. Your info is as close as I have come to any Pritchetts or Doyles. As far as I can determine now, my great grandparents, Ed Pritchett and Vadie Doyle, didn't have parents,ha. Let's keep in touch and maybe we will be related. Thanks again, Kathy. Sharon
Dan, thanks so much for your reply. If you get any more info on this Mr. Pritchett, please let me know. I am really running into a brick wall on these people. Thanks again. Sharon
There is an Obit listed in the Society Vol I Obits 1875-1939 for Ed Pritchett (189). There is a May Jones (189) in the same volume. There is also an Edwin W (73) in the Society Vol I Obits 1940-1949. Fairview Cemetery in Frankford has several Pritchett (about 33 names) listed as buried there. Possibly some are your family. Hope this helps a little. Tom W. Sisson
