    3. Without going to a lot of problems, do you have anything on the Griffith family that lived in the Louisiana farm country back in the 1940's? I would like to find out what happened to Marshall Griffith, whose first wife was my cousin (Bessie Virginia Burnett - who was known as Virginia). She lived south of New London when they married, around 1942 or 1943 as well as I can remember. They later divorced. No children. I remember he had several brothers & sisters. Virginia was born in 1918, and I would guess Marshall was 3 or 4 yrs older. Myt brother told me once he thought the Griffiths lived way out in the hills in the Ashburn area. Thanks. Carl K

    3. I've already sent a message that I want one. I was able to obtain this book a couple of years ago through interlibrary loan. It was great--but I want to look at it again and decided it would be a good investment. If funding is a problem, try your library. I first found it listed on the LDS Library site, then took the title to my local library. Linda McClure Wiley Researching VANNOY and MOSS in Pike County

They > have done alot more research than I have. If you don't know them I will be > glad to ask them if they have info on Etta. > > Linda > Linda, Yes I have communicated with both Dwight and Bill. As a matter of fact, got with Dwight last night. They have sent me a picture of Etta in a group picture and a copy of her marriage license to Curtis Hardwick. Also some letters she had written. But they don't know much else about Etta. We think she had a child with Curtis by the name of Thelma. Thelma is mentioned in a 1917 letter by Etta's mother (I believe) that says Thelma is almost 16 years old. According to that, this Thelma could possibly be Curtis' child. I know Curtis again married in March 27, 1901 to Myrtle Shores Matson. We don't know when Etta and Curtis divorced, so it's close as to whether Thelma is Curtis' or not. However, according to the book that was completed and put out at Curtis' funeral (not sure what to call it), Curtis has a daughter named Mrs. Thelma Putney. But we have not been able to find her. So if you or anyone working on Pike County knows any thing about the surname Putney, please let me know. Also if anybody runs across the name Thelma Allison or Thelma Hardwick or Thelma Daly, please contact me. Thanks, Barbara Hardwick Collier
