    3. Donna: A year or so ago, I bought a copy of the 1883, Pike County History Book from Missouri historical Printers, Box 427, Marceline, MO 64658. Apparently, they saw me coming as it cost me $200 for the reprint. Actually, at over 1000 pages and the great index, it was still well worth it in my research of the Cunningham, Watson and Jordan families (1808-1883, in Pike Co, MO). I have been researching Pike Co, MO for about 15 years, and have made several week long trips there; it is a beautiful place to research and be. If you reprint the book, anywhere near the costs you think it might be, I would buy three more copies so I could pass one each down to my children. Is the Pike County MO Historical Society becoming active again? A few years ago, when in Louisiana, I could not locate anyone very active at the time. 3. Norma: I bought my copy of the 1981 Pike County History book a couple years ago from the Pike County Historical Society, (James Millan, President). It was a 1991 reprint, printed by Jostens, 1500 North Kansas, Marceline, MO 64658. It repeated some of the history from the 1883 history book, but not nearly all of it, at all. However, it does include considerable new history and names from 1883 on and I found it quite valuable in my Cunningham and Watson research. I cannot remember the cost, but it was not unreasonable. 3. Joe: The book, History of Pike County, Missouri, 1883, is available in reprint. I bought a copy last year from Missouri Historical Printers, Box 427, Marceline, MO 64658. It cost $200, but was well worth it, as it is quite detailed, has over 1000 pages and is well indexed. On a side note, I heard from Tarny Smith, and she said you and her had been in contact working on Watson and Jordan families. As you may recall, your fourth(?) great grandfather, John Jordan, of Pike County, MO appears on many documents for my fourth gr grandfather, Thomas Cunningham. Apparently they were close friends, as your John Jordan was custodian for 6 of Thomas and Hannah (Watson) Cunningham's children after Thomas & Hannah died in 1845 in Pike Co, MO. I found all of the custodian papers, etc, a couple years ago.
