    3. This is what the USGS says about it. This is a RR switch north of McCune, in Peno Township on Peno Creek, hence its name. Township 54 North, Range 3 West, Section 20 My web page has an older Pike County Map that shows it. http://www.geocities.com/willik_1998/ The station doesn't show up on this next one, but it has all the landowners listed (early 1900) http://www.geocities.com/willik_1998/543w.gif ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna Kellock" <djk@sprintmail.com> To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2002 9:04 PM Subject: [MOPIKE-L] Peno > Could someone tell me where Peno is or was? Apparently, they saw me coming as it cost me $200 for the reprint. Actually, at over 1000 pages and the great index, it was still well worth it in my research of the Cunningham, Watson and Jordan families (1808-1883, in Pike Co, MO). I have been researching Pike Co, MO for about 15 years, and have made several week long trips there; it is a beautiful place to research and be. > > If you reprint the book, anywhere near the costs you think it might be, I would buy three more copies so I could pass one each down to my children. > > Is the Pike County MO Historical Society becoming active again? 3. I was making sure it would be worth buying the book. I have a alot of Beshears, Brashears and Allison. Elsey Allison is the main one in the Allisons. Beshears/Brashears is Robert and Elizabeth (Whitten) Beshears/Brashears. In particular, I would like to find anything on Elijah(Elizah) Beshears and his family. Elijah is the son of Robert and Elizabeth. Sounds like the book is worth the investment. Thanks for the lookup. 2. Linda, I cannot believe what I just found. Earlier today I told you I probably couldn't help you much right now, but this evening, while trying to get organized with my mounds of info, I came across an obit someone sent me about a year ago: "Olie Pritchett of Hannibal, formerly of Frankford...died September 28, 1998...He was married to Maggie D. Beshear on August 12, 1954 in Frankford. She preceded him in death August 13, 1981...Survivors include one son, Elmer Ellis, Jr. of Hannibal, two grandchildren, Susan Pickerton of Oak Grove and Greg Ellis of Frankford". (of course there is more in the obit, but wanted to give you some info now) Of course I will send a copy of the obit to you if you want. If you want to email me personally, it is SURBAN2246@AOL.COM. I will wait to hear from you. Hope this helps. It is fun to be able to help someone else for a change. Sharon
