    3. While all of you are searching Pike County cemeterys, if you run across a grave for William Chase, would you contact me please? I have a lost Gr. Gradfather. My Father was born in Cyrene, Mo.Pike County, but do not know why, since the Chase family, for the most part were lving at Brookfield, Mo.Linn County, and Williams wife, Margaret and a few other Chase members are burred at Rosehill Cemetery at Brookfield. Other brothers and sisters of my father were also born at Brookfield, Mo. No one can seem to find where Gr. Grandfather William died or whee he is burried. He died before 1910. State has no record of him and Margaret died in 1910 (I have her copy of deah certificate ) Lists her as a widow. William and Mrgaret had a son John, born in Brookfield in 1874. So I assume Gr. Grandfather Wlliam, died somewhere between those dates. Just Thought he may be burried somewhere in Pike County. Any help would be greatly appreiated. Than You, Georgia.

    3. Oops - just remembered - the cemetery at the Presbyterian Church (as I recall, about 8 miles or so south of Vandalia) was called the Mr. Olivet Cemetery. Was a very nice complex back in 40's and 50's. That is a farming community. Church used to a very nice place with well kept cemetery.- I attended their church on occasion when our youth groups got together with oother local church groups. ck ----- Original Message ----- From: mary <maryow1@comcast.net> To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 7:07 PM Subject: Re: [MOPIKE-L] Stephen Ingram > Thanks Carl, I just found out that cemetery I'm thinking about is on Route > w-8 miles south of Vandalia and west of Middletown.. still not sure of name. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Carl" <CRKrig@CanyonCountry.net> > To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 8:10 PM > Subject: Re: [MOPIKE-L] Stephen Ingram > > > > Altho there may be other cemeteries around Middletown (tho I don't know of > > any personally),, I am somewhat familiar with the primary one, as my > > grandparents, great and great great grandparents, and various other > > relatives are buried there. 3. Hi again - If you stand a bit more guessing - I lived south of Vandalia a few years before I went into the Army. There are a number of cemeteries in that area. One at Pleasant Plains (I lived there), it had an old Baptist Church - in fact, I attended it (back in the late 1940's). A few miles further south was a Presbyterian Church, also with cemetery - don't recall the names, but have relatives back there that could bring me up to date. It was close to Cuivre Creek, as I recall (pronounced "Quivver"). Might take some time, but if you want me to check further, I could contact cousins back there, two of who lived there too (I lived with the family). Happy hunting. 3. I have just gotten confirmation on my gggrandmother's family. Her name was Martha Marie Price. Her parents were Bird and Sally Price. Their children were Elizabeth married Davis; Sallie Ann married Vaughn; Eliza married Davis; Martha Marie married Netherland; Margaret married Middleton; Mary; Chloe; John Dudley Price. Does anyone have any information on this family? They came to Pike county, Missouri, before 1840 from Kentucky. I have nothing on what happened to this Birdie after this census record. 1880 Lincoln Co. 3. Hi Karen I have no family information for you but encouragement I have, keep looking; I have found cousins on family in lines that I thought not one person was researching as I had been looking for months and in one case for 3 years. Just keep posting the information every now and then and post to the County web site any information that you can come up with, copy's of marriage, birth records and the such. Some one will see it and get back to you when you least expect it. 3. Hello Karen, I have a Steve Gillett in my family line and have just started on them. Steve had a brother John and maybe more siblings. They lived near "Bush Station" and Ashburn, Mo. in the late 1890's and early 1900's. I need to go to our public library to find thier obiturarys and maybe can learn more about them. Steve Gillett married my Grandfathers sister, Laura M. Snell. If you are interested, send me your e-mal address and I will let you know what I find. Best regards, Georgia. ggolian@webtv.net

    3. Karen, do you know about the Message Boards at ancestry.com and other sites? I didn't discover these for a long time and had some good hits as soon as I found them. You can leave messages that will stay there for years, unlike a mail list like this where you have to hope they aren't out of town that day. You can also search for others who have left messages. You can do it by name, by county. Try it with just the surname, or with an initial and the surname. I am always amazed at what works. I have periodically searched for my George Washington Stevens, never found him. Yesterday, I went looking for his brother Frank on the Stevens message board, and put in the key words "Louisiana" and "Missouri" as he was born in Louisiana MO. Lo and behold, who pops up but George! and someone had left a nice fat obit for him. Good luck, Nancy

Does anyone maybe have some knowledge or information reguarding this family? or least maybe some words of encouragement so as not to give up. Thanks for reading : ) Karen

    3. Altho there may be other cemeteries around Middletown (tho I don't know of any personally),, I am somewhat familiar with the primary one, as my grandparents, great and great great grandparents, and various other relatives are buried there. However, Middletown is not in Pike County, it is in Montgomery County. The cemetery I am thinking of is known to us merely as the Middletown Cemetery, and there is a church there, tho I don't know if it is still active or not. I have an elderly aunt who lives in Mexico, Missouri, who could probably tell me, as her plans are to be also interred there. I feel sure there is a county genealogical group in Montgomery County - I believe Wellsville is the capital. I visited the cemetery lastly about nine years ago. ----- Original Message ----- From: mary <maryow1@comcast.net> To: <MOPIKE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 5:26 PM Subject: Re: [MOPIKE-L] Stephen Ingram > Thanks to all for the Ingram help--my Grandmother was daughter of Geo. > Edwin -son of Stephen and Mary. 1. Re: [MOPIKE-L] Guiley family
    2. Your query about Guiley peeked my interest. I have run across them and at one time tried to find out how they might be related to my family. In the 1850 census of Pike Co MO a George W Guiley, 20 is in the household of Samuel Allen and Zerelda Zumwalt Allen. I have also run across them I think, in Pike Co Ill. in connection with the Kerr family. I need to check that one out. Do you know of any connection to Zumwalts or Kerrs? Irma Korbitz
