Hello. I looked in Grandpa's funeral material and did find two obituaries: OBITUARIES--From Sedalia, MO. newspapers: 1. "Jefferson Farris Jefferson Farris died at his home, 400 E. Second street, at 1:15 o'clock Monday afternoon, where he had been residing for the past year. "Mr. Farris had lived in Sedalia for a number of years. "He was preceded in death in 1942 by his wife, Mrs. Ellen Farris. "He is survived by five sons, Thurman Farris, Trueman Farris, Charles Farris, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Edgar Farris, Osborn, MO., Jesse Farris, Sedalia; two daughters, Mrs. Emmet Wainscott, Kansas City, MO., Mrs. Minnie Watson, Childress, Texas. "A number of grandchildren also survive. "The body was taken to the Ewing funeral home. Funeral arrangements have not been made pending the arrival of relatives from a distance." 2. "Funeral of Jefferson Farris "Funeral services for Jefferson Farris, 85 years old, who died Monday afternoon, will be held at the Ewing funeral home at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning. "Rev. Ralph E. Hurd, pastor of the Epworth Methodist Church, will officiate. "Interment will be in the Farris family lot in the Memorial Park cemetery. "Mr. Farris was born in Moniteau County, July 28, 1864. For the past fifty years he has spent most of his life in Sedalia. "He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ellen Shadwick in 1942. One son, Reuben Farris, died three years ago. "He is survived by five sons, Thurman Farris, Trueman Farris and Charles Farris, Milwaukee, Wis.; Jesse Farris, Sedalia; Edgar Farris, Osborne, MO.; two daughters, Mrs. Emmet Wainscott, Kansas City; Mrs. Minnie Watson,Childress, Tex. "Ten grandchildren also survive. "The body is at the Ewing funeral home. "Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Farris; Mr. and Mrs. Trueman Farris and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Farris arrived in Sedalia this morning from Milwaukee to attend the service."
