He was a son of John Wesley Carlisle (1818 DE - 1901 MO) and Sarah RICHARDSON (1831 MD - 1896 MO). Although the above death certificate information says that he was born in Maryland, John W. CARLISLE was born in or near Greenwood, Sussex Co. DE. He had many brothers and sisters, ten total children of John W. and Sarah CARLISLE. About 1891 at the age of 32, he married Susan J. FOSTER, who was born Feb. 1865 in Illinois. They had on known son, a Dr. John B. CARLISLE who was the informant on the above death certificate. As of the 1930 Federal Census of Pettis Co. MO, Dr. John B. CARLISLE was not married. As given above, John Wesley CARLISLE died at St. Mary Hospital in Sedalia, Pettis Co. MO on February 27, 1927 and was buried in Sedalia on March 1-st. ADDITIONAL NOTES: The birth date for John W. Carlisle given above in his death certificate does not match the February 1859 date as given in the 1900 Federal Census of Pettis Co. MO. There are other numerous errors in death certificate information, in the area of places of birth. The informant, a Dr. John Carlisle, is most likely the son of John W. Carlisle -- John B. Carlisle who was born about June 1896 in Missouri. The informant did not give a name to the cemetery of burial, only Sedalia MO.
