I don't know if this is the James Edmonson you are looking for but maybe it will help you. James H. Edmundson, a well known and highly respected citizen died at his home in the Hickory Point neighborhood Thursday, September 21, 1911 at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 21 days. He was born in Knox county, Tenn., April 30 1837. He moved to Missouri in early childhood and has lived in Pettis county for fifty three years. He was married to Miss Nancy Calvert, Jan 16, 1873. To this union four children were born, Ella wife of R.J. Renfrow, Annie, wife of T.J. Pace and Rosie and Robert Edmundson. He united with the Hickory Point Baptist church at the age of 35 years and has lived a Christian life ever since. He loved to go to church to hear the gospel. So anxious was he to hear the word of God, that as he grew hard of hearing, he would sit near the pulpit in a chair. The funeral services were held at the Hickory Point church at 2 o'clcock Friday afternoon by Rev. Denton of Windsor. The large number of sorrowing friends who attended was an evidence of the hi! gh regard in which he was held in the community. The interment took place in the Hickory Point cemetery. Another good man has passed over the river of death unto the everlasting life of peace and happiness, but his memory and influence will live in our hearts through all time. He will be missed from the home and by many friends but the consolation of a reunion 'over there' is a blessed assurance. May the blessings of God rest on the bereaved family.
