Rosa F. Bess (Sedalia) Mrs. Rosa F. Bess, 76, 914 South Beacon, died at Bothwell Hospital Wednesday morning. She had been a patient at the hospital since June 23. She was born Nov. 1, 1887, in West Plains, Mo., daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John O'Hanlon. She married William E. Bess, M. D., June 18, 1913 in Springfield, Mo. Mrs. Bess had been a resident of Sedalia since 1917. She took a three month course at New York University, N. Y., in public speaking in 1920 and was a school teacher. Mrs. Bess was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Altar Society and the Medical Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Dr. W. E. Bess, of the home; and one sister, Mrs. Alice Dill, Independence. She was preceded in death by one brother, John I. O'Hanlon, in 1933. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Church. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Gillespie Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body is at the Gillespie Funeral Home. This was found in an old scrapebook and I don't have any other information. There was no date on this clipping, but it apparently was from a 1963 Sedalia newspaper. Ruby Neal Ekey
