Sedalia Democrat January 1954 Miss Engholm, Bride-to-Be, Given Shower Mrs. Martin Williams and Mrs. Harold Malone gave a miscellaneous shower Thursday evening for Miss Beverly Engholm, who will be married Feb. 8 to Mr. Bert Crawford. The color scheme of pink and white was used. In the living room was an umbrella of pink and white hanging from the chandelier and decorated with pink and white streamers. Beneath the umbrella was a coffee table, also of pink and white, holding the gifts. Between the dining room and living room door hung a facsimile of a large diamond ring. The dining room table was decorated with a pink and white tablecloth with white wedding bells hanging from the four corners. In the center was a white, heart-shaped cake with pink and white decorations with the lettering "Beverly and Bert". A bride doll was standing facing the bride as she sat at the baskets with small white wedding bells tied to the handles with pink bows. Pink and white dinner mints were in the baskets. Heartshaped individual cakes, ice cream and cocoa were served to the following: Miss Beverly Engholm, her mother, Mrs. Verney Engholm, Miss Nancy Lester, Miss Carolina Heck, Miss Mary Schler, Miss Donna Richardson, Miss Pat Lorando, Miss Charlotte Houston, Miss Ada Durrill, Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. W. P. Williams. Games were played during the evening after which Miss Engholm opened her gifts. Those unable to attend, but who sent gifts, were Miss Dean Hinken, Miss Janet Sattorius and Miss Janet Jones.
