Sedalia Democrat February 1954 Miss Engholm, Mr. Crawford Are Married Miss Beverly Jean Engholm, daughter of Mrs. Verney Engholm and the late Mr. Engholm, became the bride of Mr. Bert Crawford, son of Mrs. Prudence Crawford at 8 p. m. Monday, February 8, at the Epworth Methodist Church. The Rev. H. L. Alley performed the double ring ceremony before a setting of burning tapers, spring flowers and palms. The Rev. Ralph Emerson Hurd offered the prayer. Mrs. Mae Moser, at the organ, played a program of nuptial music and accompanied Miss Lois Green, who sang "At Dawning", "Because", and "The Lord's Prayer." Preceding the ceremony, Miss Carolyn Heck and Miss Ada Louise Durrill lighted the candles. Both wore ballerina length formals. The bride, biven in marriage by her cousin, Mr. Glen Henderson, wore a gown of white Chantilly lace and satin, trimmed with rhinestones and pearls, designed with an illusion yoke and a full hoop skirt, which lengthened into an aisle wide train. A coronet of lace outlined with rhinestones and pearls, held her fingertip length veil of illusion and Chantilly lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and carnations. Miss Mary Schler, who was maid of honor, wore a gown of green and pink nylon illusion over satin with a matching headpiece. Her cascade bouquet was of pink carnations. Mr. Jack Crawford, brother of the groom, served as best man. Mr. Donald Hayes and Mr. Jimmy Hayes were ushers. A reception was held at the bride's home immediately following the ceremony. Miss Carolyn Heck was in charge of the guest book. Miss Donna Richardson presided at the punch bowl. Miss Shirley Cooper served the wedding cake with Miss Dean Hinken and Miss Ada Louise Durrill assisting. All were attired in pastel formals with wrist corsages of white carnations. The bride is a senior at Smith-Cotton High School. The groom is employed at the Pittsburgh-Corning Corp.. After a brief honeymoon through the Southern states, the couple returned to their home at 314 North Summit.
