    3. Obit: Mrs. Gladys L. Hayes Mrs. Gladys L. Hayes, 79, formerly of 317 East Salline, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at 1217 West Main. Mrs. Hayes was born in Cooper County near Blackwater on April 21, 1894, daughter of the late William Allison and Anna May Jones Potte. She was married to Jonathan B. Hayes who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hayes had been a resident of this community all her life and was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Truman Knox, Kansas City; one sister, Mrs. Merle Bakewell, Sandia, Michigan; two brothers, Dewey Potter, Sunrise Beach; W. M. Younger, Sr., Greenville, South Carolina. Four Grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home with the Rev. James R. McQueen and Dr. Allard Garren, Kansas City, officiating. Fred Biggs and Gene Clary will sing accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Raymond Hall. Pallbearers will be George Dotson, Ira Knox, Charles M. Smith, Max Sullivan, Ellis Tilman and Raymond H. Bales. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
