Geo. R. Smith, in this city, Thursday evening, 8 p.m., October 8th, by Elder George W. Longan, Mr. John L. Hall, of the firm Hall & Beller, and Miss Julia Chappelear, late Principal of the Sedalia High School, all of this city. Our good friends are married, for we heard the solemn and impressive words spoken by the officiating membership, saw our friend Hall blush and heard the tremendous response of his accomplished bride. A few friends witnessed this worthy pair's embarkation on the matrimonial argosy; after which the dining room of the General and his excellent daughters was thrown open, and wine, cake and friends were served in profusion. We left the younger portions of the company engaged in hunting for a fine Ring that was hidden away amid the basilar recesses of an elegant cake of pyramidal proportions. Some lucky fair one found it, perhaps and will retire to her couch to visit her intended in dream land. At 9:45 the wedded pair, took the M.K. & T. train to Hannibal, then Chicago and New York via Niagara Falls, whither they will be festooned by the richest benisons from the deep fount of friendship and love. We tender to our friend Hall our heartiest congratulations in thus securing a true woman for a life voyageur, a lady of culture and adorned with those higher attributes of womanhood that do not fade by attrition with the cross currents of life. We can also facilitate the trusting bride upon drawing a real prize in the matrimonial lottery. An Editors blessing mingle with those of a large circle of devoted friends, and join in wishing the happy pair a life of unalloyed pleasures. Imo Pectore.
