    2. Obituary - Sedalia Daily Democrat, 10 August 1917 Funeral of Thomas P. Potter The funeral of Thomas P. Potter, aged 90 years, who died at the home of his son, R. A. Potter, on South Carr Avenue, Tuesday afternoon, was held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Providence Baptist Church near Clifton City, the services being in charge of the Rev. Zed Thomas. The following were the pallbearers: Messrs. John R. Holman, Ed Calvert, B. F. Thomas, L. A. McMullin, Ed Moon, and J. H. Whitley. Burial was in the Providence Cemetery. Mr. Potter was a well-known resident of Pettis County, having resided here and on a farm near Clifton City the greater portion of his life, with the exception of several years spent in the California gold fields with a party of "forty-niners" from this county.
