    2. Obituary - Sedalia (Missouri) Democrat, 30 April 1945 Mrs. Margaret DeWitt Mrs. Margaret DeWitt, 69 years old, wife of the late Rev. Joseph A. DeWitt, passed away at her home north of Beaman Sunday afternoon. She had been ill for fourteen months following a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. DeWitt was born near Postal May 17, 1875, the daughter of the late John and Eliza Wilson. She has lived her entire life in Postal and Beaman communities, where she was well known. She was married to Rev. Joseph A. DeWitt October 18, 1894, who preceded her in death March 15, 1945. Mrs. DeWitt is survived by five sons, Ollie DeWitt, Beaman; James DeWitt, Portsmouth, Virginia; Roy DeWitt, Pleasant Green; Oran DeWitt, Omaha; Elmer DeWitt of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Mae Price, Omaha; Mrs. Henry Vollrath, Sedalia; Mrs. Lee Vollrath, Green Ridge; Mrs. Cevia Sams, Madison, Wisconsin; Mrs. Emmett Wood, Detroit; one brother, Sterling Wilson, Blackwater; two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca DeWitt, Beaman; Mrs. Alta Williamson, Denver, Colorado. Thirty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. The body was taken to the Ewing Funeral Home and returned to the family home Monday afternoon, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment will be in the Potter family cemetery north of the Lamine church beside the grave of Rev. DeWitt.
