Obituary - Sedalia Daily Democrat, 1 August 1917 Benjamin Franklin DeWitt Benjamin Franklin DeWitt, aged 86 years, died of general debility at 8 o'clock Tuesday night at his home, eight miles northeast of Beaman. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 o'clock at the Lamine Baptist Church, and burial will be in the cemetery there. Mr. DeWitt had resided for fifty-one years on the farm where he died. His wife died two years ago. He leaves three sons, Joseph, Calvin and Benjamin DeWitt, all residing on adjoining farms, and a daughter, Mrs. Louis McMullen, also residing in the same neighborhood.
