    3. Based on the attached information can someone tell me if David S. FORMAN is shown in the 1860 federal census of Pettis County? I found him on the 1870 federal census living in Washington Township: On October 4, 1856, John G. Fowler and Thomas A. Fowler sold to David Forman of Pike County, Illinois, the SW 1/4 Sec. 9 Twp 45-Rg 20 containing 160 acres and the N1/2 W1/2 SE1/4 Sec. 30 Twp 45-Rg 20 containing 40 acres, in Pettis County, MO for $1,200. This 160 acres was near Farmers City, a village that sprang up as the Pacific RR, later Missouri Pacific, now Union Pacific (1997), built through to what became Sedalia. The railroad touched the northeast corner of this 160, or would eventually about 1860. Farmers City just north and Price City just east quickly vanished, but Smithton and Sedalia remain and this farm was about half-way between them if you want to locate it on a map. The 40 acre woodlot was several miles southwest. However, no deed to the 160 acres could be found. The first farm had been sold to the Lamms (who still own most of it), prior to 1876. On August 11, 1874, D.S. Forman gave a mortgage to one William H. Forman (his brother), but the book it was recorded in could not be found. Any sharable information most greatly appreciated.
