We went out to the original property, though the station was only in use for about 10 years Robert sold it back to the Bank. The KTM was taken over and they discontiued the station there. I don't know if you ever figured it out but can give you the information if you would still like. My Aunt Doris said you had a book about the Keightley lineage. They were in MO by 1850 where they had daughter Brunnetta (Netty) Brown. NEtty was a house-keeper for the GARRETTS by 1865. Thought perhaps her parents died and she was farmed out. Garrett family also from KY. Jefferson GARRETT was a union soldier and farmer. He was in PETTIS 1865, possibly on farm. How were these families connected, and how did Netty end up working there? He married there to Mary Jane Bybee 24 Nov 1844. She was born 1828 to Sherod and Libby Button Bybee 1828. She died ca 1905 in MO. Her family gravitated toward Iowa. Where was she buried? Jefferson Button brought his family to Pettis County about 1860 to Bowling Green Twp where a number of other KY families had moved. Their family was Ellen (1848), Laurie (1850), John Hiram (1854), James Madison and Sarah (Twins - 1860). By 1860 the family is found in Alexander Twp, of Benton County (did the boundary change?) By 1900 Hiram BUTTON is found as head of household with Margaret S., wife b. 1854 in MO. Their children include Walter J. b. 1887. The 1910 census was hard to read but Walter J. (Joseph) was 23 years old with wife, Ada. Their children were Lena, 9; Ray 8; Leth (Leta?), 6; Ralph, 3. Does anyone have marriage records for any of this family? Where were they buried?

He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Grace Wright, of Kansas City, and Mrs. Pearl Nave of Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church at Florence Mo., with Rev, Cramer, pastor officiating. Pallbearers will be Jacob Cline and H. A. Brimmer of Sedalia; F. D. Rasa, J. F. Casdorph, David Cramer and Carl Hildebrandt, Florence. Burial will be in the Florence cemetery.

Funeral of Mrs. Susan Miles The funeral of Mrs. Susan Miles, whose death occurred Friday night at the home of her son, Charles Miles, north of La Monte, was held Sunday afternoon at the Salt Fork church, near Nelson, Mo., the Rev. Gilmore Koffman, of Gillam, Mo., officiating. Six of her grandsons served as pall bearers. Mrs. Miles had bee[n] a resident of the Dunksburg community for several years. She is survived by four sons, Jessee Miles of Marshall, John Miles of Kansas City; William Miles of Moberly, and Charles Miles of La Monte. Twelve grand children also survive her.

McCune, in Lamonte, Mo., Aug 21st, of slow paralysis, from which he had been a great sufferer for 2 1/2 years. He was born in Holmes county, Ohio, nearly 47 years ago, and came to Missouri with his parents in 1866, locating near Dresden; from there they went to Calhoun in 1876, where he united with the Christian Church. He went to Lamonte about 10 years ago. He has one brother and four sisters living: Mrs. T.P. McCune and Mrs. G.H Hardey, at Lamonte, Mrs. J.H Light and Mrs. H.J. Underwood, Chicago, and Frank Dawson, Denver, Colorado. Mrs. J.H Light was at his bedside for three months helping care for him. The funeral services were conducted the next day at 3 p.m., at the residence, by Rev. G.E. Shanklin; the remains interred in Lamont cemetery. End As a note, T. P. McCune should have been noted as P. P. McCune. I believe there was a T. P. McCluney in the same area at the time and the author of the obit may have confused the two.

She taught school for several years before she married William Duke at Woodville on Oct. 1, 1867. They came to LaMonte in 1869. Mr. Duke died in 1930. Of their 7 children 3 survive, a son A.W. of Meeker, Okla., and 2 daughters Mrs. H.L.McCune of Sedalia and Mrs. R.E.Kerby of LaMonte. Another daughter Mrs. O.W.Clabaugh died in 1928 and 3 children died in childhood. Also 3 sisters, Mrs. L.M. Recker of Woodville, Ohio, Mrs. Clara E Gardner of Millbury, Ohio, and Mrs. Matilda Ash of Logansport, Indiana survive. Also 10 grandchildren, Carl G of Pittsburg,Pa. Mrs. Harvey Brimmer of Sedalila, Mrs. Harry Waldman of Sedalia, Elizabeth and Margaret Frances Duke of Meeker, Okla., William, Ruth and Arthur Lee McCune of Sedalia and Marjorie and Maurine Wagner of LaMonte. 4 Great grandchildren, Harvey jr., and Barbara Ann Brimmer of Sedalia, Laura Lou Clabaugh of Pittsburg, Pa., Donald Ray McCune of Sedalia. Funeral notice for Emaline BRIM DUKE from an unknown newspaper: Funeral of Mrs. Duke Funeral services for Mrs. Emaline Duke, who died at her home in La Monte, Wednesday morning, will be held in the Christian Church there at 2 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. She had been ill for the past three years. Mrs. McCune was born in Pettis County near LaMonte, Dec. 29, 1875, the daughter of the late William and Emaline Brim Duke. She has lived all her life in Pettis County. She was married at LaMonte, April 27, 1910, to Harry L. McCune. They were the parents of three children. Mr. and Mrs. McCune lived near LaMonte during their early married life, later moving to a farm southeast of Sedalia where they resided for 17 years. They returned to LaMonte to reside in 1938. Mr. McCune died Nov. 7, 1943. Mrs. McCune was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Mrs. O.W. Clabaugh, who died in 1928. She was a member of the LaMonte Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Ruth McCune, Independence, Mo.; two sons, Arthur McCune, 1302 East Sixth Street; William P. McCune, Route 1, Sedalia; one sister, Mrs. Emma Kerby Duffer, LaMonte; one brother, A.W. Duke, Meeker, Okla. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandson also survives. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Church in LaMonte at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Roy Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the LaMonte Cemetery. The body is at the Ewing Funeral Home. The only difference is the title: The Sedalia Democrat says Mrs. Luella McCune and the Green Ridge paper says Mother of Wm. McCune Died Saturday.

McCUNE RITES HELD SUNDAY Funeral services for Harry L. McCune, aged 72, who passed away at the U.S. Veteran's Facility Hospital at Wadsworth, Kansas, Wednesday, Nov. 17, was held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the LaMonte Christian church, with Rev. Harry J. Smith officiating, assisted by A.W. Kokendoffer of Sedalia. Misses Mary Helen and Frances Meyer of Sedalia sang, "The City Four Square," and "Abide With Me," accompanied by Mrs. Paul Brim. The following friends served as pallbearers: Honorary, Dr. W.E. Walker, C.E. Terry, F.M. Nicholas, John Hammock, Hallam Courtney and C.L Hanley, the latter four of Sedalia. Active: E.C. Stevens of Sedalia, Elon Keller, Ernest Jones, Glenn Reynolds, Guy Mahin, and Oliver Sevier. Services at the grave were in charge of Spanish-American War Veterans. Burial will be made in the LaMonte Cemetery. Mr. McCune was justice of the peace in LaMonte township. He had been in the hospital in Wadsworth ten days receiving treatment. Harry L. McCune was born near Dresden, May 24, 1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip P. McCune. He spent his younger years at Dresden and later lived in LaMonte for a period of years then moving to a farm southeast of Sedalia where he followed farming for 17 years before removing to LaMonte. He was married to Luella Duke in April, 1910, a member of a pioneer family of this community, and to this union three children were born, all living. During the Spanish-American War he served with a company from Sedalia, and was at Chickamaugua Park until demobilization. He was a member of the Christian Church, and has served on the board of deacons in both the First Christian Church in Sedalia and the LaMonte Christian Church. Besides his interest and participation in the church which he loved, he found pleasure in the work of the local Boy Scouts, and was also a member of the I.O.O.F lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Luella D. McCune of the home, a daughter, Miss Ruth, teacher in the Whittier school in Sedalia, a son, William, of Spring Fork, and another son, Sgt. Arthur McCune, of Camp Cooke, Calif. Four grandchildren, Donald, Dale, Carol Ruth, and David, children of Mr. and Mrs. William McCune. A sister, Mrs. J.H Underwood, Traverse City, Mich., and a brother Roy P. McCune of Oroville, Calif, together with several nieces and nephews, also survive. Sgt. Arthur McCune and wife arrived Sunday morning from California to attend the funeral.
