I have. I have put my husband's gggrandfather PRESLEY in this family with no concrete evidence. On the 1840 census Pettis Co.,Mo. I found Presley Bryant 20/30,wife: 20/30,son: under 5, living next to Elizabeth Young 60/70,who might be related.Presley named his son Thadius Young Bryant,don't know what his wife's name was. If anyone has info.that proofs this wrong please let me hear it I'm open to all suggestion,if your interested in how I arrived at my decision to pick this family E-mail me & I'll be glad to give it to you.I appreciate any help and thank you. I am researching the CURRENT family who resided in Pettis Co, MO before going to Johnson Co and then Vernon Co MO. John H Current born 1813 in Grafton W VA, moved to Delaware Co, IN and married Martha L SMITH her family was from Ohio and Vermont. They had children William CURRENT born IN, who married Emma KULLMER in Pettis Co, in 1870. They later moved to St. Louis, MO. Alexander Martin CURRENT born 1846 IN, married Nellie MATTHEWS 1869 in Pettis Co, MO. I believe they moved to Logan Co, OK. Luther T. CURRENT born 1847 IN, who married Sallie Elizabeth CURNETT who was their neighbor, in 1873 Pettis Co, MO. They moved to Vernon Co, MO. Nannie CURRENT born 1851 IN she married Samuel WINSTON in 1869, but by 1880 she has moved back to her parents' home with a son Charles. I have lost track of her since 1880 census. I do not know if she remarried or where she went. Lewis Albert CURRENT born 1847 IN married Mattie CRANSTON (?) sp variation. I found a Lewis Albert Current in Parker, TX, but married to an Abbie Burrow. I am not sure if this is my Albert or not. Mary Rose CURRENT born 1855 IN married Nathaniel Porter also from Pettis Co, MO in 1873. They move on to Lincoln, Nebraska. Lastly my line is Stephen Anson CURRENT born 1857 IN married Laura Jane STONE-father Oliver Miller STONE-they married in Johnson Co, MO in 1890. Around 1900 Stephen, and Luther along with their father John move to Vernon Co, MO. Would like to share information.

I just compared the two, this is what I found: William McDaniel's land description: 40 acres, NW 1/4 of the SE !/4 of Section No.33, in township No 48, Range No. 21. Isaac Carver's land description: 40 acres,nw 1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section No. 8, in township No. 47, North of the base line of Range 21 West of the 5th Principal Meridian in District of Land to be sold at Franklin, MIssouri containing 40 acres more or less. Signed Isaac Carver, Mary Ann Carver, her mark. On 10 Oct 1842 personally came Isaac Carver and Mary Ann his wife both personally known to me to be persons whose------. Mary Ann being made aware of her dower rights etc. Henry Rains JP. May 3, 1848 The deed made this 3rd day of May in the year 1848 between Leftwich Divers of the Co. of Pettis and State of Mo. of the one part and Isaac Carver of the Co. of Pettis and State of Mo. of the other part. William McDaniel 1 male 1830-35 1 male 50-60 1 female 50-60 likely his first wife. 12 th family below William is Isaac Carver 1 male 10-15 1 male 30-40 this is Isaac born 1805 1 female 1835-40 Polina married Andrew Jackson Leeper, Collin Co Texas 1 female 20-30 this is Mary Ann ---wife of Isaac 1 female 50-60 1780-90 ?his mother Catherine 1 female 90-100 1740-50 unknown Trying to find the name of Isaac Carver's father. Obituary - Sedalia Democrat, 6 May 1928 Mrs. Mary Elizabeth O'Bannon Mrs. Mary Elizabeth O'Bannon, pioneer resident of Pettis County, widow of the late Thomas H. O'Bannon, passed away at the family home, 725 East Tenth Street, at 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon, after a lingering illness. Mrs. O'Bannon was born December 22, 1852, near Harris, Cooper County, Mo., the daughter of William P. and Nancy Hughes Dillard. She grew to womanhood near Hughesville, and was married to Mr. O'Bannon January 11, 1883. Mr. O'Bannon died February 5, 1911. The early part of their married life was spent in LaMonte, the family moving to Sedalia in 1905. Mrs. O'Bannon was one of the city's most substantial and loved residents. Home loving and devoted to her family, she made a home where her relatives and friends loved to visit, and where they always received a welcome. She is survived by five children, William D. O'Bannon, Allen O'Bannon, Mary A. O'Bannon, and Mrs. Elizabeth Wilkerson, all of Sedalia, and Mrs. Willis B. Combs, of St. Paul, Minn., who arrived in Sedalia Saturday afternoon. She also leaves one step-son, Fred W. O'Bannon, of Paonia, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, W. R. Dillard of Sedalia, and Joseph G. Dillard of Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. J. Stuart Mill to officiate. Mrs. Will Heynen will have charge of the music. The following friends will serve as pallbearers: Joe Elliott, E. W. Couey, Ernest Adams, R. F. Sellers, W. F. Yankee, and J. C. Connor. Burial will be in the LaMonte Cemetery by the side of her husband.
Obituary - Sedalia Democrat, 7 September 2000 Sula M. Brown (1907 - 2000) Sula Mae Brown, 92, of Green Ridge, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home in Sedalia. She was born Sept. 14, 1907 in Clifton City, a daughter of Joseph Austin and Sarah Rebekah DeWitt Potter. On Nov. 28, 1928, she was married to Everett Lloyd Brown, who died in February 1974. Mrs. Brown moved to Green Ridge when she was young. She attended the old Mountain View Elementary School and was a 1925 graduate of Green Ridge High School. She was the youngest of nine children. She was a longtime member of Green Ridge Baptist Church and was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are two sons, LeRoy Brown of Independence and Dale Brown of Green Ridge; two daughters, Louise Hayworth of Craig and Elaine Bryson of Sedalia; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Green Ridge Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be grandsons David Brown, Doug Brown, Daryl Hayworth, Mike Bryson, Jeff Brown, Terry Hayworth, Scott Bryson, and Bobby Brown. Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at Ewing Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church. Obituary - Sedalia Democrat, 24 May 1999 Lenore Yancey, 78, Sedalia Lenore Yancey, 78, of Sedalia, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, in Sedalia. She was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Smithton, a daughter of Frank B. and Ethel Potter Griffin. Ms. Yancey was raised and educated in Smithton. She graduated from Smithton High School and Sedalia Business College. She spent 31 years of civil service in the office of the wing commander of Whiteman Air Force Base. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Wesley United Methodist Women, and Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was a 40-year member of the Chancel Choir at Wesley. She was a member of Helen G. Steele Music Club, N.A. R.F.E., and Bothwell Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are two sisters, Irma Keyes of Sedalia and Genelle Streit Neumeyer of Lee's Summit; three grandsons, Brian Helms, Mark Helms, and Steven Helms; two granddaughters, Amy Leary and Emily Yancey; two great-grandchildren; a daughter, Nancy Helms of Lee's Summit; and a son, Gary Yancey of Sedalia. She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Leonard Griffin, and a sister, Millicent Rowland. Funeral services will be a t 10 a.m. Tuesday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Frederick Zahn officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Helms, Mark Helms, Brian Helms, Steven Helms, Griffin Streit, and Frank Griffin. Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
