Larry Lowrey gave it to me about a year ago. It shows he was born in Iola Kansas. I have not bothered yet to try to get his birth certificate to verify any of the info we have. All those records for the small towns are at the state house in Topeka. I don't have the death certificate handy but it shows the date of birth. Have no idea if any of that is correct. I just found out about six months ago that your mom died. Sorry to hear about that. She was my favorite aunt. If we can help, drop a line in the e-mail box.

Just found your message, Feel sure it's same family. My grandmother, Helen Sweetring, married James Benda in the 1890's and moved to Ames, Iowa. She had a sister, Cecelia,. who had at least 3 daughters. I knew dad's cousins, Margaret and Helen, because they married and moved to Portland, Oregon where I grew up. Can't remember the third daughter's name. Maybe, with more research in Quincy, I'll come up with some answers. Thank you so much for answering. Helen Benda Balanko
