Obituary - Sedalia Daily Democrat, 4 August 1914 George Ross George Ross, an old resident of Pettis County, died at his home at Lamine, Pettis County, Saturday, August 1, and was laid to rest in the southeast corner of the family graveyard Sunday at the close of the day, under the giant oak trees that shelter the old homestead, by the side of the bride of his early manhood, Miss Martha Steelman, to whom he was united in marriage in 1862. B. Fuller, Pastor First Baptist Church." There were Mahnken families in Benton, Pettis, and Morgan Counties, but I don't find a Kate (Katherine, etc) offhand who isn't otherwise accounted for. I have all the information from the sexton as to location of each grave and most are in close proximity to each other. I am willing to pay going rate and expenses. Also are there census records available for Pettis County other than the Federal Census around the same time? I am doing needle in the haystack research on Nicholas Willems (1868-1925) who moved about every few years. I only know he was in the Green Ridge area because his youngest son (Lee Roy Willems) was born there Feb. 14, 1914. I'm hoping there may be some information that could help me find out more about Nick.
