Paul, by any chance was there another little girl adopted with Lulu? My grandmother's grandmother was a Lulu who was adopted. There were two sisters. Married to her grandfather, her name became Lulu Trefry. I found record of this marriage. It happened in Maine. I found two records that were exactly the same, EXCEPT for the Brides name. (I can send you this page). The first record of marriage for PERCIVAL TREFRY has a bride: "LULU LANDERS" and the second record is identical save for the brides name on this one is: "LULU CUNNINGHAM." My grandmother thought about these names trying to remember anything (she was a little kid then)... she starts to say something about her uncle, I thought she was saying she had an uncle cunningham but what she was remembering if anything I will have to check with her again to try to understand. The point is, I have a Lulu who started out life as a Landers or a Cunningham. Grammy says she looks like a french ca! nadian indian. They lived on Pine Street in Wakefield Massachuesetts in the Census of 1920. The county is Middlesex.

There is an article listed on the following URL which shows those men who served with Sterling "Pap" Price in both Saline and Pettis Counties. http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/missouri/pettis/article_1960.shtml
If you haven't checked the cemetery category on the Pettis Co page lately, you won't know that George was back and recorded more cemeteries. Among them are 2 sections of the Smithton Cemetery, which has not been transcribed before. Several other cemeteries on the page have not been transcribed before either, so you, like I, might find someone you have been looking for for years and did not know where they were. Cathy

I have only been able to find two other leads, on-line or off-line, that might let me reach her.... This one.... and another that seems to be her work email. Not knowing her employer's policy about receiving personal mail, I would rather not try to send my genealogy letter there. I'm hoping she still has this post registered for reply notification, and will know that I have been trying <sigh>, and can let me know an alternative way to write to her. Again, my apologies for the post that has nothing to do with Pettis Co, and my appreciation for your patience. Linda Schreiber
