    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FMB.2ACE/1459 Message Board Post: My grandmother lived in Green Ridge for a number of years and I remember the small weekly paper that she received that included a lot of local happenings, such as visits between neighbors and such. Anyone know if that newspaper is available in an archive somewhere? I've tried searching in the historical society, but only found one reference to the paper and for a short period of time in about the 1980's. I'd like to find the paper from at least the 1900's to about 1980. HELP!

Sure, I'd love to hear about Bacon. I'm not sure why he witnessed my g-grandfather's naturalization. Perhaps they just needed someone and he was handy. My g-grandfather was a bartender at Burke's Bar in Sedalia. He died in 1873. His widow and her two children stayed in Sedalia until about 1879 and they then moved to St. Louis. I've never been to Sedalia, but I hope to stop there sometime. I live in California. Marilyn

I belive my line migrated from Amherst Co., VA to Mercer Co., KY in the early 1820's and then to Frankin Co., KY aft 1827 and on to Pettis Co., MO. There was a William Bryant that married Elizabeth (Betsy)Sloan in Cooper Co., MO that came from KY and is believed to have died in Pettis Co., MO. There also was a William Bryant connected to Daniel Boone in Boone Co., MO it is thought that they all followed him back to Franklin Co., KY.

He was in Pettis Co. Mo. 1840 census ,age 20-30,wife 20-30,and a son under age 5.As you know,in 1840,there wasn't a clue to a wife's first name and I never learned it.I believe her maiden name was Young and the widow,Elizabeth Young in the household next to Presley Bryant was his mother in law. Do you know of a Bryant/Young connection? The Youngs came from Hawkins Co.Tenn. to Pettis Co. a few years prior to 1840. Presley's wife died soon after this census was taken and Presley took his first son,Thaddeus Young Bryant, back to Ky. Please contact me if you have any info.on the Youngs or Bryants from Pettis Co. Thank you,Patsy

    1. [MOPETTIS] Crown Hill Cementary
    2. Mark Ellis
    3. Hello, I am new to this list and I have a question about Crown Hill Cementay in Sedalia. Has this always been considered to be the "city cementary". One of my wife's ancestors was bured in the "city cementary" in 1907. I called Crown Hill and and they did not have a record of him being buried there. I'm thinking either he IS buried there and they don't have a record (or marker) for him or in 1907 Crown Hill was not the "city cementary. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
