    1. [MOPemiscot] James Eugene PRYOR/PRIOR
    2. Well, there definitely was a Kennedy, MO. I found a map in an old book (1904) in the Archives. Kennedy was a small village on the Mississippi River in the eastern part of Organ Township. It even had a postoffice from 1893 until 1918. The same thing probably happened to Kennedy that happened to Gayoso, MO and Boothspoint, TN. As the river changed course the land eroded into the river. And the towns and cemeteries disappeared. There was a north/south road that travelers took that went though Steele in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It became Highway 61. The St. Louis, Memphis and Southeastern Railroad also went through Steele. Now, for the bad news. I could not find a listing for James Eugene PRYOR/PRIOR in the cemetery transcription books for Pemiscot County. That does not mean he was not buried in Pemiscot County. Just that he is not listed in the cemetery inscription books. Carolyn
