Tennessee abt 1865. His parents migrated to Maury county by 1880. His parents are William Rutherford and Rutha Ann Murr. Some of Sherman's siblings migrated to Madison Co. Tenn around the Medina and Oakfield vicinity and then some around Jackson. I am in contact with a descendant of Sherman's brother Preston "Press" Rutherford who died in Jackson, Madison Co. Tenn in 1940. In his obituary it stated his brother Sherman lived in Cottonwood, Missouri. This Rutherford family connects to the Sevier family, through the first Gov of Tenn John Sevier's sister Mary Sevier. I have lots of information on the Rutherford and Murr families and the Click family which I do extensive research on. Rutha Ann Murr's mother was Rachel Click.
