Stancil found in New Madrid County on the 1850 census and have lost track of him after that. I believe he or descendants may have been in Pemiscot County after that. Would really appreciate if anyone with a census index for 1860 and/or 1870 would look for any Stancils and and share the index info with me. I understand there is a community called Stancil in the county. What is the origin of that name? Thanks, Tracy Stancil
