But I have nothing on the rest of the family. They moved to Obion Co. Tenn. possibly Hornbeck after they married then to Portageville, Missouri area. I found my Daniel Carter in the 1900 census in LEWIS, Co. Tenn. he was born june 1852 in Tenn., it also said his mother was born it Ky. but where I don't know her name, and I haven't found them in any other census I know his wife was Tabitha Jane Lane and she came from Hickman Co. Tenn. I was at Ancestry.com last night and read a message stateing sometimes a child's middle name is the last name of the mother. I am wondering if her last name could be Francis. my Uncle name was A C FRANCIS CARTER my grandfather's name was JOHN ANDREW CARTER the son of Daniel and Tabatha. the letters could have stood for ANDY CARTER and maybe Francis was her last name. has anyone ales ever heard that saying and i know that A C was not short for Andrew Carter, but the initials could have been. Does this DANIEL CARTER fit any where.
