Hi, I saw your post on the Pemiscot message board and am very interested in your Pierce surname. My gggrandmother is Mary Pierce Howell, born in TN, but later came to Pemiscot Co. She had a daughter Lucy Bell Howell Nichols who married Robert Lee Nichols. Another Pierce, Dolly/Dollie, married a Howell. The Howell boys were brothers, but I have been unable to determine the connection between Mary & Dolly. I would appreciate any Pierce info you can share with me. Jewel

Little Prairie Cemetery:( Vol 3 Pemiscot Historical Society Cemetery Inscriptions p.38) Hillard, Harry Horton, May 14, 1875- Dec 17, 1946 Hillard, Hattie Carleton Feb 21, 1879- Hillard, Nellie Marie, Apr 15, 1903- on p.14 of the same volumn: Hillard, Mary Francis, Feb 2, 1908- Oct 5, 1918, "Granddau." This child is buried with the Carleton family. She might possibly be Hattie's child. Since there are no death dates given for Hattie and Nellie, they were either still alive in 1970 when the cemetery "census" was done or possibly they were buried somewhere else. Good luck! It states he was at Curl's picnic ca 1912. He is pictured with someone written on back as Carl. Wondering if anyone knows what Curl's picnic was. Was it a local event or perhaps just a family gathering? Any help appreciated. Was there a Curl family in Pemiscot County MO at the time? Perhaps it is just a misspelling of the young man's name...Carl.
