    1. [MOPEMISC] obit look up please
    2. I would really appreciate it if you could look for a couple of obits for me 1) Mary (Molly) Hicks lived in Holland married to James T. (Tommy) Hicks. Her maiden name was Champ. She was born in July 1883 or 1884 in Dunklin County MO. died around 1918. There is no death certificate in the MO. archives. 2) Emerson Adolphus Samford/Sanford born feb.19 1880 in Pemiscot County MO. died around 1918. There is no death certificate for him either. He was married to Frances Elmeda (Ella) Scott Samford. 3)Charles (Charley) Scott born June 10, 1887 in Tennessee or Kentucky. died around 1918. There is no death certificate for him either. He was married to Jenny Samford Scott. Charles Scott and Ella Scott were brother and sister, Jenny Samford and Emerson Samford were brother and sister, rumor was that Charley and Emerson died the same night and their wives sent someone from each house to go tell the other one that their brother had died, they supposedly met in the road and told them the turned around and went back home. I'm thrilled to learn they participate in the InterLibrary Loan program. I have requested microfilm through my local library on several occasions, only to find out the institution with the material doesn't participate, so this is fantastic news! :-) Considering your relative's success with the Dunklin Democrat, and that it dates back to 1893, I think I'll start by requesting a roll of that paper. Author: Mary_Funderburk Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.pemiscot/1750.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Twice=A=Week Democrat, Caruthersville, Missouri Friday, January 14, 1910 John S. Fisher died January 10, 1910 at the St. Montrose Hospital in St. Louis, and in a cemetgery of that city his ramains were laid to rest. The cause of Mr. Fisher's death was consumption, of which disease he had suffered for several years. About two years ago he left here and went to South Texas, and failing to be benefitted by that climate, he went to St. Louis and entered the hospital, where all that was possible to do was done for him until death relieved his suffering. Mr. Fisher was well-known and had many friends in this city, where he lived some six years. He was at one time captain of Company I and was elected and served one term as coroner. He married Miss May Sherrill who is now his widow, and of that union was born two children. Mrs. Fisher and the children are with her brother, Lawrence Sherrill, of St. Louis, where they will probably make their future home. Had it not been for ill health Mr. Fisher would have made a prominent record in this county,! as, in the brief time alloted him, he rose rapidly in the confidence and friendship of all who knew him.*************************************************** I do not have any obituaries for the year of 1912 nor could I find an obit for Mr. Popham.
